It's got 8 megapixels (you really don't need more than that unless you're going to enlarge a lot of poster-sized pictures), an 18-55 mm zoom (standard with the camera) and after doing a ton of research, that's what I'm going with.

This is an awesome website for doing some comparisons and research: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos350d/page28.asp This particular link is to the Rebel xT (or 350D as it is also called), but you can look up absolutely every camera ever made. This is the site I used to come to a conclusion.

I only have about $100 to go before I have enough saved. I'm gonig to get mine off of eBay (a new one, not used), because I like the package that included the 75-300 zoom lens, but I know Roberts' Camera in Indy was having a sale. The camera itself is on sale fo $399, which is the cheapest I've seen, but I don't know if it's still on or not.

Ok, so this got lengthy. Sorry. I'm really excited to be so close to getting a camera myself!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05691779093898159643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668263800215345403.post-17212528004445983602008-02-22T14:54:00.000-08:002008-02-22T14:54:00.000-08:00On the other hand, I might not be a single bit of ...On the other hand, I might not be a single bit of help since the last four cameras I've had, I've returned!tacomomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09091819459938378422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668263800215345403.post-21075202345866528542008-02-22T14:53:00.000-08:002008-02-22T14:53:00.000-08:00Well, I have opinions but what price range are you...Well, I have opinions but what price range are you looking at? I bought one of those handy-dandy MP3 players at goodwill for $15.00! But now I'm too lazy to figure out how in the world to get music on it. I think I'll send it to my sister in Ireland and let her fight it out.sarahmfryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08937666590169292088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668263800215345403.post-13453435482244898282008-02-21T05:35:00.000-08:002008-02-21T05:35:00.000-08:00Good info, girls. It has a 6x zoom I believe and very user friendly. Fast processing so you don't have to wait a long time before you take the next pic. It has IS - image stabalization. Takes great pictures. I had one almost like this, but, my fault, I dropped it on it's face and broke it. You can buy this camera online for less than $200. So, if you want to spend a lot of money then the Rebel is great, but for less money and a nice point and shoot - this one is great in my opinion. Good luck on choosing :)Leanna Pitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00305008265457260502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668263800215345403.post-42838437933708185952008-02-20T20:27:00.000-08:002008-02-20T20:27:00.000-08:00Definitely go with a Cannon Digital Rebel. I would...Definitely go with a Cannon Digital Rebel. I would recommend looking around on www.buydig.com You don't pay tax, and the shipping is pretty reasonable. Go to a camera store and play around with them, hold them in your hands, and then buy on line!! Much cheaper. I have bought 2 cameras from them and have had no trouble. I love my Cannon and it's what I use to take all my weddings and studio stuff. It's 6.2 megapixels, and it enlarges crystal clear! If you want an SLR, that's what I'd recommend. Now point and shoot would be a different story...much too long for your comments area.LaDonnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09803471818615427375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668263800215345403.post-66386212701079099652008-02-20T19:32:00.000-08:002008-02-20T19:32:00.000-08:00Some day I would LOVE to own a Canon Digital Rebel...Some day I would LOVE to own a Canon Digital Rebel. Probably by the time I can afford one, it will be WAY out of date, HA! I have a Canon Rebel and it takes AWESOME pictures, but it is not a digital. It is a bigger camera, but it takes professional looking pictures. I think the "picture queen" LaDonna would agree with me?! I don't read directions if I can keep from it either. It bores me to death and half the time they might as well be in Greek for all the sense they make. (you can tell a man writes them!)
