In other news

In other news: Jalen drove our riding lawn mower off the front concrete retaining wall---it is about 1 1/2 foot drop to the front side walk. He always mows the front yard as close to the edge as he can and then they finish with the push mower. Apparently he was attempting to get really close--hehe. No, he said it started sliding down the bank and he couldn't stop it. I figured that was a pretty good little jolt! Don't know what the damage to the mower is yet. Does it ever end????

Jaida's Jokes

Thought I'd share some of the jokes Jaida made up for her new joke book she is writing. I didn't think they were too bad.

1. What did the daddy plug in say to the mommy plug in? You'll be shocked

2. What did the pancake say to the human? Are you trying to butter me up

3. What did the daddy pajama's say to the mommy pajama's? You'll be worn out

Losing it!

Have no idea why I need to tell on myself but, we have lived in the same house for over 18yrs. and the past few months I have repeatedly tried to flip light switches on where there are none??? Like in places where there never have been any and really even shouldn't be any and on the opposite sides of the doors and rooms??? I truely am losing it!

Just wondering?

Does anyone ever just marvel at how much work it takes to keep up with everything???? Just wondering?!

Lovely Day

What I thought was just a little viris that Jaida picked up has turned into something much worse!!! GRRRRR! Jaida started with a low fever and bad headache on Wed. night. She was sick Thurs., Fri., and still didn't feel great on Sat. Normally my kids don't get it at the same time but Jalen got sick on Thurs. night. He was very disappointed because they were out of school anyway on Fri. for teacher's convention. He said---what a waste! So, he was sick all weekend. Jeff started feeling bad on Fri. and was sick all weekend and me, well I felt bad for a few days but not really bad enough to go to bed. Then yesterday I started the whole sinus infection thing!!! I feel like banging my head against the wall! It feels like it could explode at any minute. Oh well, I will just plan on not doing much this week. Kind of funny when I look at my schedule, Wow meeting tonight, school picnic tomorrow with jello jigglers to take, work Wed., help cook meal for school kids on Fri. for their fabulous Fri., and of course all the laundry, house work and meals all week! hehehehe, I'll really be resting!
Hope everyone out there is feeling well and is looking forward to a great week! At least someone should be huh??

The "real" vacation pictures

Is this really my pretty little girl??

Travis had a couple of ideas!

The two beautiful sisters acting their shoe size

Jenny crawling to shore lest she be carried out to sea by the high winds

Steve the Viking

Dad sacked out!

Janae being a little dramatic about the wind(although it was very windy)

The wonderful sofa at the cabin!hehehehehe it was hilarious!

Vacation memories

After reading Jody's new post I thought I would share!ha She mentioned how I embarassed Travis in the parking lot of the grocery store. I had a good time too! I am usually the one embarassed by him. It went like this: Dad and Travis ran in the store (actually they walked) to get some charcoal. All 200 of us that were in the HUGE 15 passenger van were very hot. So, I volunteered to drive around while we waited to get better use of the AC. When we saw Travis come out of the store I had a little ornery sreak in me---in other words I pulled a Jenny. I pulled up beside him honked the horn several times and everytime he tried to get in I would slowly pull away. Then I would return and do the same thing honking the whole time. I did this quite a few times. It was hilarious because everyone around in the parking lot was laughing. Dad was still in the store and said the cashier kept hearing the horn honking and told him it was annoying!hehe Travis acted like he didn't care but confessed later on that he really was embarassed.

My day

Well, we are heading out on a little family weekend trip tomorrow. We planned on going somewhere with my side of the family during summer break but it was impossible with everyone's schedules. So, we are picking up the kids at noon tomorrow and heading down to Holiday world. We got a big cabin at Patoka(sp?) Lake. My kids didn't really know about it until Sunday(I didn't really know myself for sure when it was-ha) They are all very excited to get to spend time with their cousins.
I have been going into school on Thursday afternoons and doing a craft with Jaida's class and then rushing her to piano lesson at 3:00P.M. So, I was thinking I would have time this evening to do some housecleaning and packing------but, I just realized this morning that we have a PTF cookout tonight. I have to make potato salad too. I might not leave with a super clean house but I will have the clothes packed.Ha!
I've noticed since school is back in session I do have alot more time to sit and get bills paid, and stuff done that is hard to do with kids but it still seems as though my time is used up everyday to the very last minute. I think that's just life huh?
I have so been enjoying having my windows open this week---somehow it just makes me happier and the house seems fresh(even though it is dirty).
Well, if I don't have time to post anything else I'll try to have some really extra special pictures of my sisters from our trip---I might get a few of the kids too.HA

On the go

My day started out with not being able to find Jaida's shoes for school. First we were downstairs with about 20 min. until time to leave and Janae reminded me that it was picture day. Thankfully they were supposed to wear their uniforms. So, I rush upstairs and grab the curling iron because I knew Jaida's ponytail would not last for more than a couple of hrs. So, I curl her hair a little and put a headband in. Then it was no shoes, we finally had to grab something else and ran out the door. Then I realized I should have gotten gas the day before when I noticed there weren't any bars at all left on the gauge. Thankfully we made it there and they were right on time. Then as I was getting gas Mike called saying he could fix the window in our apt. so I got gas and as I was leaving Litz called to say he they needed me to come by a pick something up. I ran home and told the renter who doesn't speak English, has 5 kids, just had a baby, just had her 2 kids out the door for school and was going back to sleep, that we were ther to fix her window(I felt really bad about that!). Then I ran in to comb my hair and Jordan called and said he had left his paces at home. So, I run paces to school, drop by Betty's to get something, got home, left to take a walk. As I'm pulling in the drive from my walk Jeff calls and says maybe I should pick up the mail while I'm out(but I'm not out now)and Mike needs roofing from Kramers. So I go back out and get the mail and the roofing shingles. The best treat of all was going to El Jaripeo with Jody and Lynette. AHHHHH I think I'll take a nap now. Just was thinking today that when you become a mom you never know how your day will start or end or how it will be in the middle!ha

Rug for office

I had alot of fun doing this room. This was a $10 rug that I had had for a long time. I gave it new life!ha I have worked on this room off and on the past week. I think I will enjoy being in there now and maybe paying bills will seem a little cheerier now!ha

Office Redo

I finally am about finished in my office. I didn't take a picture of the other side of the room----on purpose. I just need to organize a big entertainment/book shelf thing. I want to put all of my scrapbook stuff and I got some card making stuff for Christmas that I would like to organize and put on the shelf. It won't be pretty, just functional. (no I normally won't have fresh flowers in my office----I planted some zinnea flowers seeds and they have been sooo much fun. I planted the seeds at the end of June they came up in July and are still so pretty. I have enjoyed bringing them in and there are still a bunch out there.)

Nothing Exciting

Wow, what a busy week we have had. I mentioned in an earlier post that we had someone move out of the apt. next door. Jeff decided to move his office over there. It is a 1 bedroom little apt. with hardwood floors and is pretty nice. His office has been in our attic bedroom. Jeff added a big dormer(several yrs. ago)when he changed the back roof, anyway it made a room off of our bedroom that is supposed to be a bathroom.(it isn't yet) When he moved his office home that was the best place for him to work to be away from everyone. So his office has been in an unfinished closet/bathroom for a couple of yrs. He was soo ready for a change. So, Friday night Jordan got a couple of friends to come over and they moved everything over. It was a big job to carry everything from our attic to the upstairs apt. next door! I had a little desk in there too because I do Jeff's Quickbook stuff so, since he moved his stuff I decided our downstairs office that had basically become the "catch all" room needed major cleaning and organizing. Well, you can't really do that without a new coat of paint huh? It was a dark orangey color and I was ready for something light and bright. It is now yellow. So, once again I have managed to create work for myself. I think I seriously have something wrong with me. The floor had been painted a few years ago so last night I moved everything to one side and gave the floor a fresh coat of paint. Now, I need to remove myself from the couch and paint the other side so I can get it all back together.
We had a church picnic at Wilhelm's yesterday. I think there were almost 200 people there. It was alot of fun and the kids had a blast. Now it's time to get back in the groove after a long weekend.
Hope everyone had a great Labor Day!
