Jordan's Ears
Jordan had his CT scan today. He has had chronic ear problems since he was a baby(I had ALOT of sleepless nights along with him). I was always sooo thankful that Janae slept pretty good. Anyway, we found out in April that he has a Cholesteatoma(sp?) on his right ear with 50% hearing loss and the ear drum is retracted back to the middle ear on his left ear (20% hearing loss). It isn't a good thing to have a teenager that can't hear! We found out today that it is better than it could have been and we are very thankful. He will have surgery on June 15th to remove the growth and put tubes in both ears. The doctor is hopeful that this will restore his hearing. And we are too!!!!HA! Will let everyone know how it all goes.

Hey, Julie! LaDonna here. Does this mean Jordan will miss CYM youth camp? I hope not, poor guy! I'll be seeing you (maybe) in a couple weeks, bringing Justin up and staying the week at Catrena's. I pray Jordan's surgery goes well.
Hey, Ladonna! Nice to hear from you. Didn't know you had a blog. when is youth camp? Didn't realize it was around that time(if it is)
Julie
I kept forgetting to ask you about that. Any idea what caused it?
Angie, yes, a cholesteatoma is accumulation of shedding of skin in the ear from infections etc. It grows and grows and forms a cyst. It can be really big--even into the brain(scarry). It also can errode all the small bones in the ear causing the hearing loss. Jordan still has like 2 bones intact so the Dr. thinks his hearing will improve

Wow! Hope everything goes well!
oh, btw Jordan's wasn't into the brain--I hope I made that clear!

We are praying for Jordan and trusting that the surgery is very successful and he ends up as good as new.
Julie, CYM youth camp is 18-22 of June, the same week that Pilgrim Youth camp is going on there in Frankfort. I hope he will feel well enough to get to one of them. I know Justin said Jordan seemed to enjoy himself last year!
Hi Julie! We sure will be praying for Jordan.
