Sofa

I was very proud of myself. I kept the same sofa for about 11 yrs. That is a record for me. It was floral and I painted the room a couple of times and added different pillows to make myself think it was new. I had been really itching for something plain. I wasn't even looking for a new one but just happened to walk in Pier One and low and behold they had a sofa that I loved. Isn't it funny how sometimes we have to look forever for the perfect thing and other times we find it when we aren't even looking! Well, it is so different from my other one but I really like it and will be able to change wall color when I want to without replacing it. Jeff says he always like my second choice of paint color---my first choice is the color I put on, trim it out, and then decide that I don't like it! So I go for another shade etc. I don't think these pictures are very good I think I need to take them when the sun is in the room. Let me know what you think.

Love, love, love your new rug. The sofa is nice too. But then what don't I love from Pier 1??? Pier 1 and West Elm are my two favorite decor stores.
By the way, your silk painted wall art looks familiar...I have that exact one in our upstairs hallway.

Tamra, Cool thing was I had been looking for a rug and just coudn't find anything(in my price range)that I liked. I was in World Market to get the other curtain panels I needed and saw that. Didn't know if it would work but I really like it in there. Yes, I think I saw pictures of your house on someone elses blog and noticed the picture. Small world huh?

I forgot about World Market...really like that store also. In fact, I have my eyes on some curtains there for the windows in our bedroom. However, I'm trying to justify buying them since they would be used for decoration only...definitely not a utilitarian purpose.
I'm trying to decide between a couple: Ivory Capiz Shell or Capiz Tortoise Shell curtains (thought about the Bamboo Ring curtain, but don't think so). These would hang BEHIND the curtains I already have. These would just give the windows some extra "pop" as they say. I also need to update my dining room table centerpiece. I think a trip to Pier 1 is looming in my future. :)

Looks great. It's definitely a Julie room. I always forget about Pier 1 until I stop in and then I keep saying I should go there more often. I love their Christmas decorations!
